What is the "101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For"?
The awards were established to honor those companies in each market that recognize employees as their greatest asset. These are companies that work with imagination and conviction to create organizational value and business results through their policies and Best Practices in human resource management. 
The selection, recognition and awarding of the "101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For" allows businesses to showcase these policies and Best Practices, and demonstrate why each of them is an ideal place for employees to work. 

Each participant will receive a basic assessment providing your company's overall ranking in each category will be provided with the nomination fee.  Also available is a company individualized comprehensive assessment for each of the human resource survey questions.  This is a vital component in showing where your company stands out as a "best and brightest" and where improvements can be made. 

Criteria and Award Selection Process
The competition provides the business community with the opportunity to gain recognition, showcase their best practices and demonstrate why each of them would be an ideal place for employees to work.  Our panel of judges, in conjunction with Illinois Institute of Technology Center for Research and Service and Davenport University, takes extreme care in ensuring the integrity of the selection process.  To ensure that the selection of winners is pure and unbiased, our judges have no interaction with the administration flow of the event. The process is three-fold:

  1. Companies are nominated by individuals.
  2. The Company's Human Resources Department is contacted to complete and submit an extensive survey along with an employee roster.
  3. The Company's Employees are selected to complete an anonymous extensive survey on how they feel about their work environment.

Each application is examined statistically for quantitative data and scoring using a point system. Those receiving the highest points are selected as the winners.  The highest points assigned in each category are selected as the Elite Winners and the overall winner is awarded the "Best of the Best" honor.
